my fight

“no, our school do not send any team, so we cannot send individually”

oh, sh*t! this is the first time in my life, to ask for permission for joining a competition, asking thousands time, waiting for days and nights, just to be rejected by the time I meet the teacher.

I can only ran back to Ms. Teo, my guardian teacher here, to help me. She asked another teacher, and I see a dim light, a very dim light. I don’t know whether I still have hope or not. But I will fight for it. If in the end they did not send me to the competition, I will register by myself.

The next day, my teacher give me the final decision. I cannot join the Physics Olympiad as the school did not send any team, and it will be pointless to send a girl without preparation.

After school, I have higher mother tongue class at other school, so that I had to go there after school. After consulting with my mom, I decided to go to the NUS, the school which hold this Olympiad. I do not care, whatever happens, at least I have came to that school.

I really thank my supporting friends, especially Rena Multaputri. She is a very supporting friend, she always helps her friends, including me. She wipe away my uncertainty.

I know that God protects me and leads my way. He indeed leads my way. When I am about to go to the NUS, I do not know which way to go, I am so scared as I am going to somewhere I never know, on school day. I just went up the bus going to the closest MRT station, but I miss the bus, so I got down to at the next bus stop.

Was I lost? No! That bus stop is a bus stop where I can find a direct bus to the NUS.
I was on my own. I hopped on to the bus directing to NUS. It was a quite long trip, I was very afraid alone inside the bus, going to somewhere I never knew. I was sitting inside the bus, holding the paper showing the bus stops, did not dare doing anything else.

In the end, I got down at NUS University. I should go to NUS High School, which located 1 bus stop before where I got down. I discovered it after asking people around NUS University. Waiting quite long, I try to call the office again, as I was not able to call the office before. Finally, someone answer my call. He said he is Mr. Tan, he was not in the office and I can call him tomorrow.

I am 1 bus stop away from the school, but the school office has closed. I still continue my trip there, and walk around the school. After that, I went to the bus stop. Lucky me, there is a direct bus to the hostel! Woohoo! I wait for the bus, about half an hour, then I arrive at hostel, fruitless, at about 7.30 pm.

though I get nothing after travelling so far, I felt very satisfied. I never do such thing before just to enter a competition. I need to work hard. Wish me luck!
